Wayne Kaumualii Westlake (1947–1984) was a Hawaiian poet, journalist, activist. 
Shin made these art for his friend, Westlake and his poetry.

Hawaiʻi Triennial (February 18, 2022 to May 8, 2022) featured at the Hawaiʻi State Art Museum that focuses on Native/non-Native collaborations, including work edited, published, produced or designed by ʻElepaio Press (1976 to present) together with the literary magazine Seaweeds and Constructions (1976-1984) and Westlake: Poems by Wayne Kaumualii Westlake (1947-1984) published by the University of Hawaiʻi Press in 2009.
